What a delightful picture book! Ranger Marco is a raccoon guide for Fawn, Doe, and Buck as the deer family explores the world of humans. I loved watching the little tour as they visited a nearby city, puzzled over the strange peculiarities of humans, and marveled at all the odd things humans do. Fawn tries to imagine why people would stand on their hind legs, and even attempts to mimic them without much success!

I haven’t seen this premise before. It’s a cute, light tale that would be great fun to share with a child. The illustrations are colorful and sweet, and capture the joy and curiosity of Fawn, the concerned caution of Doe, and the strength and guidance of Buck. Marco is excited to share his experiences in the human world, and his exuberance shows in the images on every page.

People Safari is a captivating tale for the little ones in your life! Definitely recommended.
