This might be the first children\u2019s chapter book I\u2019ve ever read as an adult, and what a cute book it is! Katy is a cat who sings, much to the chagrin of the squirrel in Katy\u2019s backyard tree, or the other birds, all of whom tell Katy that cats don\u2019t sing, and she should stop. But Katy dreams of singing on Broadway and refuses to give up. This adorable story is an awesome lesson for kids that you should never abandon your dreams, that if you keep trying, you can make it happen.<\/p>\n
The story itself is easy to follow, the characters (especially Katy) relatable, and the illustrations adorable. I can easily see how children would love Katy, so it doesn\u2019t surprise me that author and illustrator Ella English would have plans for more adventures with Katy in the future.<\/p>\n
