I do not charge for book reviews at this time. However, please read this whole section before submitting a request!
Genres I won’t review include erotica, historical fiction, horror. Only the rare nonfiction catches my attention for reading/reviewing. Also, please don’t send me books whose plots push sexism, racism, genderism, or other -isms that demean or belittle whole groups of people.
Please be patient. In addition to my day job, I am also a writer. I’ll take books as they catch my interest, but it may be a while before I can get to your book and write your review.
Do note that if I can’t connect to the book or care about its characters, I may not write a review at all. If I DNF it, I won’t write any review (caveat: if you send me an -ism book after I’ve asked you not to do so, I may break this rule). The fact that I didn’t like it may have nothing to do with the quality of your writing or the story itself; it may just mean I am not your target audience. I don’t want to cast shade on another writer’s hard work.
Don’t ask or expect me to give you a good review simply because we are both writers. I want people who read my reviews to trust that they are my honest opinion; therefore, that is what I will post. See rule #3.
I post reviews on my website, Amazon, Goodreads, LibraryThing, and BookBub. If you want me to post it elsewhere, please ask. I’ll try to accommodate.
My ratings will be pretty standard.
***** Loved it. Can’t recommend it enough. Will read it again when I have time.
**** Great story/characters/plot/tension. Thoroughly enjoyed the story. Might read it again one day.
*** Entertaining. Kept my interest, but probably won’t read it again.
** I could not connect to the characters/plot/story. Won’t read again. May not review.
* Either I did not finish, or I had to force myself to finish the book. Would not recommend. Rare rating, since I will probably not review it at all.
If I decide not to review, I will let you know. If you wish to know why, I’ll tell you.

Once I’ve requested your book, I only accept ebook formats. Ideally, I’d like to review ebooks that are on Kindle Unlimited since that allows me to support you while I’m reading. Otherwise, I would prefer an ebook review copy. Physical books that make it to my door will be donated unread to local free libraries.
